The San Francisco Medical Examiner has not yet received the body of a 53-year-old man killed in the wee hours this morning when a pickup truck and garbage truck collided near Fourth and King. Neither the ME or police would release the man's identity.

The driver of that pickup truck, Dwain Davis of Templeton, Calif., was arrested after failing a field sobriety test. The San Francisco Police Department said Davis has no prior record in this county -- but would not release his measured blood alcohol content or any information about what he was doing far from home at 5 a.m. in Mission Bay.

In addition to killing the unfortunate pedestrian, the accident led to massive traffic backups as the I-280's Fourth and King offramp was closed for much of the morning, and Muni's N- and T-lines suffered long closures and delays.
