It's Time for 'Murder By Clock' Defendant's Preliminary Hearing

​Kira Roueche, accused of killing her boyfriend with a timepiece, will be in court today when the clock strikes nine for her preliminary hearing.

Roueche, 34, pleaded not guilty at her November arraignment to charges she murdered Cameron Miller in his SRO hotel room, using a clock and vodka bottles as the deadly weapons.She faces one count of murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon (the clock and vodka bottle).

SF Weekly earlier queried the District Attorney's office just what manner of clock was involved here, and was told it likely was a bedside clock radio. Even this, it was explained, could be classified a "deadly weapon" if used repeatedly as a bludgeon.
