The man shot to death Friday on scenic Christmas Tree Point Road was 68-year-old John Rumble, according to the San Francisco Medical Examiner's office.

Rumble, who hails from parts unknown, was discovered in the morning of March 26 in a car parked on a road best known as a haven for shutterbugs, with panoramic views of the city.

It is unknown at this time if the car he was discovered in belonged to Rumble. Officials in the Medical Examiner's office said Rumble underwent an autopsy yesterday. It has yet to be determined if his shooting death was a homicide.

After more than a month without any violent deaths, San Francisco is coming off a bloody period. Maximo Farjado, Jr. is accused of strangling Barbara McIver, an 87-year-old resident of the convalescent home where Farjado worked; Farjado then led police on a Hollywood-worthy chase about town.

Also, 83-year-old Huan Chen died after being hospitalized on Jan. 24 following a mugging and 28-year-old Deoaunta Lyons was senselessly shot dead in broad daylight, in full view of his extended family.
