San Francisco is an interesting place, I moved here in 95, ive been here since. the bad? 1.greedy landlords and politicians created a hellish real state bubble that is still causing havoc, most of folks income goes to rent.
2.The infrastructure is full of inept corrupt greedy institutions (MUNI,WELLS FARGO, etc), and 3. -the "hipster infestation" of the city resembles a kitchen taken over by rabid racoons. The good? well the weather is not as bad as the east coast or the midwest, but lately Im tempted to take a chance on months of snow storms.
I lived in San Francisco from around 1973 to 2003. We moved from PHX,AZ and i remember asking my mama as we crossed the Bay Bridge into SF...'mama why we got to move here'...and years later I was the last to come back home to PHX and I truly miss SF and the time that I had went to school there, ran the streets there, and just plain had a BLAST...I have visited since then and although things have changed there, like everthing,San Francisco gave me some my most memorable moments in my life. It was truly a "SAN FRANCISCO FREAK,oppss I mean TREAT!"....lol

Mark Simon = public affairs (flak) for SamTrans
Mark works in public relations for San Mateo County now, so he has to be slightly more careful about how he disses San Francisco.
San Francisco is the smallest city in the world. It's also one big ass shopping mall.
Oh yeah! Mark Simon! Where is he these days?
Mark Simon, a columnist who covered the Peninsula, used to refer to the Bay Area suburbs as "the colonies."
What's this "San Franciso" thing? Everything north of Santa Barbara is Canada.
Ha, I can see that, though some San Franciscans view Palo Alto as a sunnier, safer, and snootier Southern appendage.
Saul Steinberg, in turn, owes Myles na gCopaleen the same apologies. "An B Bocht" came out in 1941, Steinberg's cover was in 1976.
