Elderly Beating Victim Huan Chen Dies

After more than a month without a homicide, it looks like San Francisco has experienced not one but two in the course of a weekend.
We reported earlier on a suspected murder at a Mission Street old age home Monday morning; the suspected killer was arrested after a rollover crash on 16th and De Haro. The identity of both the suspect and the victim have not yet been released.
But the Medical Examiner was already busy. Huan Chen, 83, died on March 19 after being attacked on the street at 1625 Oakdale back on Jan. 24. According to the Medical Examiner's office, that battery put Chen into General Hospital -- and he never left.
If that case is ruled a homicide, that would make Chen the 10th murder victim of the year and this morning's the 11th.
