Fatal Shooting on Christmas Tree Point in San Francisco
A 68-year-old man was shot to death Friday on scenic Christmas Tree Point Road in the shadow of Sutro Tower, the Medical Examiner reports.
The man has been identified, but the Medical Examiner's office is not releasing his name until notifying his next-of kin. The ME has also not yet released a ruling on whether this was a homicide.
After more than a month without any violent deaths, San Francisco is coming off a bloody week. Maximo Farjado, Jr. is accused of strangling Barbara McIver, an 87-year-old resident of the convalescent home where Farjado worked; Farjado then led police on a Hollywood-worthy chase about town. Also, 83-year-old Huan Chen died after being hospitalized on Jan. 24 following a mugging and 28-year-old Deoaunta Lyons was senselessly shot dead in broad daylight, in full view of his extended family.
