John Avalos Amused By Rumors He's Seeking Assembly Seat

Earlier today, we confirmed that rumors Supervisor Sean Elsberd's attention has been piqued by a potentially vacant Assembly seat are true. Consider him piqued. But while Elsbernd wouldn't mind a move to Sacramento, his colleague, John Avalos, tells us he's not going anywhere.
"The reports of my running are greatly exaggerated," he says. "I have not thought about it for a minute nor would I consider doing it anytime in the near future."
When? "Maybe 10 years from now, when my kids leave home," said the Excelsior-area supe.
If Jackie Speier does indeed run for Attorney General -- vacating her Congressional seat and inducing a bum-rush of upward mobility -- "There will be quite a shuffle. I will not be part of that shuffle," assures Avalos. "I'm perfectly happy representing District 11 -- and learning my job that I've only been doing for one year."
