'I Love New York 2' Reality TV Contestant On Trial For Murder in San Francisco

Character, Ralph Waldo Emerson observed, publishes itself evermore. So should America's reality TV fans have known, when Jamal Trulove started trouble and got booted from the first episode of I Love New York 2 in 2007, that he would wind up on trial for murder in San Francisco?

Well, maybe not. Trulove appeared on the VH1 show -- which features various male suitors vying for the affections of Tiffany "New York" Pollard -- under the name "Milliown" (for all you uncultured types, that's French for "million") and started a fight with another beau, promptly earning New York's disdain. She gave him his walking papers at the end of the first episode.

New York apparently had the right idea. Prosecutors now say that Trulove murdered a 28-year-old San Francisco man, Seu Kuka, on Blythedale Avenue in the city's Visitacion Valley neighborhood just a few weeks later. He was eventually picked up in Seaside, Calif., on a $5 million murder warrant.

Trulove's trial started yesterday, according to the office of District Attorney Kamala Harris. On top of the murder allegation, he is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
