Strippers Bring in 2010 By Dropping Their Drawers ... Or So The Sign Says

As you're honing your last minute New Year's Eve plans, the Snitch wanted to suggest one more option for ways to usher in 2010. We spotted this bad boy (or should we say girl?) on the seedy stretch of Market Street last night.

As the saying goes, behind every strip club, is a great marquee writer. If first place goes to the O'Farrell Theatre, for once advertising Dianne Feinstein's phone number on its bright sign, Market Street Cinema comes in second for its not-so-subtle New Year's message.

One more note: we wrote last summer about the unfortunately named convenience store directly under the sign: the T & A Market. At the time, the owners, Taha and Ahmed, said they were petitioning to change the name of the store to simply the A Market. Well, as you can see in the picture, it looks like they've now altered the name on the sign by simply painting over the "T &" part. That's just about as classy as showgirls dropping their drawers at the stroke of midnight.

Hmmm ... dropping drawers at the stroke of midnight ... how did that plot twist get left out of Cinderella?
