It's not too late for locals to catch the UFL action...okay it is. But you can still vote on what you likely didn't see.
Readers may remember when we dropped by the United Football League home opener for the California Redwoods at a 90-percent empty AT&T Park. Overall, the football wasn't terrible -- though the neon uniforms are the worst thing since Jazzercise. Yet one can grow depressed wandering through the stands and seeing only forest green seat after empty forest green seat -- whole sections empty save for two guys passing a joint who are so stoned they don't even know what team has the ball. But, again, the game was pretty entertaining.

For San Franciscans, the UFL season is in the books. The hometown Redwoods finished at 2-4 and it'll be the Florida Tuskers vs. Las Vegas Locos playing in Vegas for the league championship on Nov. 27. But if you wanted to get involved -- and didn't -- now you can. Sort of.

The league is inviting its fans to weigh in on its postseason honors. You can peruse each Most Valuable Player candidate's stats and make an educated selection. Or you can just vote for the guy named "Craphonso." The choice is yours.

You can also vote for coach of the year (the "stats" offered for voters to suss out which coach is most deserving do not include wins, by the way. That's a problem), and "Fan Favorite Play of the Year."

Exercise your right to vote with pride -- and wisdom.
