Maryam Achekzai, 25, has a violent history and has spent time in state prison, the San Francisco Chronicle reported this morning. She is alleged to have stabbed Lassaad Bokri, a 38-year-old worker at Bellissimo Pizza, on Tuesday. Police have so far said they have no idea what Achekzai's motive might have been, but told the Chronicle that she was behaving erratically when arrested.

According to a press release this afternoon from DA office spokesman Brian Buckelew, Achekzai entered the pizzeria early on Tuesday morning and asked for a glass of water. Afterward, at about 1:30 a.m., she encountered Bokri smoking a cigarette outside the restaurant and allegedly attacked him with a knife while shouting. Bokri died of his wounds shortly afterward at San Francisco General Hospital.

After the attack, according to the DA's office, Achekzai tried to flag down a car in the street but was arrested by a police officer who saw what appeared to be blood on her hands and clothes. The knife was found near the pizzeria.

Achekzai is scheduled to be arraigned in San Francisco Superior Court on Monday, Nov. 30.
