L.A. Police Chief William Bratton Endorsing Kamala Harris for Attorney General
| She's book smart all right... |
Hey L.A., here's a Twitter-ready bio on Harris: She opposes the death penalty, her department's diversion program "Back on Track" accidentally offered job training to illegal immigrants, she's smart, charismatic, and has great hair (although it's not as famous as our mayor's coiffure).
Harris also has a book coming out next week, Smart On Crime: A Career Prosecutor's Plan to Make Us Safer. In that book, she praises Bratton as a "law enforcement innovator."
According to Harris' campaign, the D.A. and Bratton will hold a conference call with reporters tomorrow morning at 8:30.
Harris' campaign finance filings
show she raised more than $1.2 million through June 30 and has $750,000
cash on hand. One of Harris' opponents is former L.A. City Attorney Rocky
Delgadillo. Bratton's endorsement of Harris smells like a major snub. LA Weekly certainly thinks so.
