Vehicular Madness, Cop Swarm in Potrero Hill -- With Video

For reasons yet undisclosed, a car somehow jumped the curb last night on Potrero Street between 23rd and 24th Street around 11 p.m. One neighborhood resident said that it "looked like every cop in San Francisco was there."

The footage above was captured by a nearby resident. Just how, exactly, the above scene came to pass -- and what became of the driver -- is not clear at this time.

SF Weekly
's calls to the San Francisco Police Department have not yet unearthed any answers. Meanwhile, the Medical Examiner's office reports that no vehicular fatalities were recorded in the area last night.

UPDATE, 11:15 a.m.: Sergeant David Mackriss of the Daly City Police Department told the Snitch that this was the result of a five-minute pursuit of a stolen vehicle that originated on the Daly City-San Francisco border. Daly City officers chased the car into the Potrero Hill area, where it took out a traffic signal at 23rd Street and Potrero and then came to rest against a house. There were no injuries.

UPDATE, 12:18 p.m.: The alleged car thief is currently incarcerated in Redwood City. She will face "many felony charges" according to the Daly City police.
