As we have mentioned before, we're aficionados of various precincts' police reports. And though our hearts may be tempted by Central Station's vivid descriptions of three-card monte games or Ingleside's T.J. Hooker-worthy fights on and within big American cars -- our first love would have to be Taraval Station.

Captain Paul Chignell is a deft writer and manages to quote suspected criminals blurting out any manner of jaw-dropping statements.This time, however, it's not the alleged crimes but the repetition of said crimes that caught our eye. Simply put, on Friday morning, it appears the Taraval cops had a special going on drunk drivers and/or crazy things done by the aforementioned alleged drunks. To wit:

3:33 a.m.: Officers arrive at the scene of a collision in which the driver hit two other vehicles and, to boot, a building. She was "highly intoxicated," failed a field sobriety test, and was arrested for drunk driving;

6:45 a.m.: Officers track down suspect who is wanted on a drunk driving warrant;

7:11 a.m.: Officers visit the home of a suspect who is also wanted on a drunk driving warrant. When the man walks out of his house, it appears he's got something in his front-right pocket. Well, it's a loaded semi-automatic firearm and the police are none too amused. Now he's getting arrested for two things;

8 a.m.: Officers manage to arrest one more suspect on a drunk driving warrant. Nothing untoward in this person's pockets, it would seem.

If there's a lesson to be learned, it's this: When visiting the Outer Sunset, look both ways before crossing the street.
