The OC Weekly, our sister paper down in Orange County, was one of two media outlets to break the news of the former Assemblyman Michael Duvall's salacious recount of his affair with a lobbyist and another woman that led to the politician's abrupt resignation Wednesday.

Reporter R. Scott Moxley published a story on OC Weekly's Web site Tuesday night recounting the Republican lawmaker's bragging episode with all the details you won't find in the family newspaper. Even the staid Associated Press has since written about Duvall's confession that he likes to spank the lobbyist who wears skimpy lingerie. But Moxley printed the more um, juicy details.

Moxley dogged the Yorba Linda Assemblyman on Tuesday to try to get a comment, and quoted an anonymous Capitol staffer who had some devastating analysis of the apparent affair: "Their relationship is the worst-kept secret in Sacramento. He's old and fat. She's hot, blond, and about 20 years younger. He could have never gotten a woman like that before he got this job."

Kudos to Moxley. Ouch for Duvall.
