Update: Have Fun Storming 'The Castle.' Weekend Home-Invasion Robbery Was at Infamous Bayview Site With Self-Evident Nickname; Arrests Made.

Earlier this morning, we wrote about a weekend home-invasion robbery that may have lacked the home, invasion, or robbery. Police have called back and given us a few details to fill in the blanks.

As to whether the building in question was a residence or "social club," this is explained by the fact the site of Sunday evening's police standoff was "The Castle," a home hosting a pinball machine and pool table "social club" in its basement according to its owner, and a gambling den, drug haven, and ID-theft headquarters according to the San Francisco Police Department. As for its nickname, move between the 1500 and 1600 blocks of Newhall on the Google Street View above. The house with the crenelated towers -- that's not Buckingham Palace.

As for whether or not someone actually did enter this building with weapons, the police have an answer there, too.

Four suspects were detained and two were arrested on robbery, conspiracy, and a bevy of weapons charges. When these arrests took place has not yet been answered; at 7:45 this morning the SFPD told us that suspects had only been "detained."

Update, 3:15 p.m.: The men were detained and arrested on-site.
