Um...I think part of the allure of hooking up with older women is that it seems naughty and somewhat wrong (oedipal?). The whole idea of a convention for such a thing makes it seem more accepted and really ruins the appeal.

So, here's the reality of it all... We all grow old. We all like looking at a pretty face. We all like to keep our own faces and bodies pretty, and believe me, this can be done if you take care of yourself. You say fat men just wanted to get laid by older women that have no standards? Actually, standard grow higher with maturity, as does open mindedness; it really is a great combination. I was at the event on Friday night and it was nothing but fun. People were open to meeting people, even if it was prompted by curiousity. The DJ was great, I danced non-stop from 9:00 until 12:00, with many men, some young enough to be my son, some close to my age, many highly educated, some just there for a good time, and really, nothing else mattered. Lighten up people, look up the definition of fun and remind yourself how to have some!

For me, the term "couger" is silly, since it's some CULTural label and really can kill the thrill of this phenomenon. "Younger" women are generally ideal, but they've (sorry for offense, but so it seems) got so many timing and control issues, whereas older women are far more lenient and playful about "restraint," never (for me) in a harsh or vengeful manner (unlike the former). That's my take on it, if you're morality binds you on this, don't waste your time, but it's the real deal, lots of fun if you're guy with tons of testoserone AND control, you might discover a new paradise. Enjoy!

I am 20, so I am not a cougar - but I think these women should be applauded for being confident enought to go out and get what they want. Most of these women are mothers, and sometimes grandmothers...and anyone who thinks they haven't paid thier dues for a little happyness is a jerk. I'm a 45 y/o divorced guy - dated women ranging from MUCH younger to slightly older - May/December hookups either YM+OW or OM+YW are great for a fling (and yes, I definitely was able to 'keep up' in every sense of the word), but for the long term, women who remember the same presidents I remember are a much better fit. My DGF is 48 and this relationship is the best one I've ever had.

As an attractive 48 year old woman who had a very serious relationship with a man 15 years younger then me (ended but not due to age) and several loving affairs with others, I can say I find this whole event disgusting. The term Cougar conjures up precisely this type of image-SF Weekly got it exactly right. These women were skanks in their 20's I bet.
I have never and I mean never pursued a younger man. YMen seem to find me (generally thinking I'm 15 years younger then my actual age-no sh^T) interesting, intelligent and fun without the drama and insecurities of their former younger GF;s. It's been commented on many times.

I have to say this: If men my age actually would stop going after their 25yo trophy, weren't so bitter and messed up from their failed relationship (s), had my level of energy, took care of their health, I would consider more of them datable. But alas, go to any dating site and you will see that men over 40 want women 26 to 35. Kinda puts us out of the dating loop. They don't see Me as datable...LOL Age is not the issue-it's attitude. Don't lump me into this crowd ever. See people for who they are.

Happily I don't have to attend conventions like this.
