Oof! Is Embarrassing Typo On Gavin Newsom's Campaign Web Site an E-Freudian Slip?
| You sure you want to claim credit for that Web site, sir? |
Anyhow, here's the kicker: The Web page claims that Newsom "recently launched SFrecovery.org to allow citizens to provide input on how San Francisco spends federal stimulus dollars." So we went to SFrecovery.org -- and found it was a Web site for a substance abuse treatment center in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
This is painfully embarrassing for two reasons -- one, having the wrong Web site here doesn't really attest to our erstwhile mayor's technical prowess. Two, as we've noted in the past, Newsom has his own history of addictions. If Elizabeth Taylor were running for office and she inadvertently touted her creation of a Web site advertising quickie divorces -- that'd be odd, too.
For what it's worth, the Web site Newsom meant to tout is RecoverySF.org
UPDATE, 5:25 p.m.: Hey, they fixed it! Good going!
