Via the Ingleside Station newsletter comes this incident from last week, seemingly cribbed from an episode of Reno 911:

10:55pm                 00-100 blk Brookdale Ave.
Disturbing the Peace

Officers ... responded to a burglary.  While conducting their investigation, they heard very loud music coming from an apartment over 100 feet away.  [Officers] ... contacted a very intoxicated subject inside the apartment, who had just turned up the music even louder upon the officer's arrival.  [Officers] issued the subject a citation for disturbing the peace.

There are several awesome bits of information in this notice. The first is that the officers who wrote up this incident were so impressed by the subject's drunken state that they described him or her as not just intoxicated but "very intoxicated." The second is that when confronted by two police officers on his or her doorstep, the drunken reveler decided to turn his music up "even louder,"  in a (one assumes) misguided attempt to take a stand for the average American's right to drink 16 beers and listen to Rush* really, really loud, damn it. Sadly, this fellow suffered the fate of so many rebels for freedom, and was issued a citation by The Man.

*We are just guessing about the Rush.
