Ever since Alanis Morissette released a song titled "Isn't It Ironic?" chock full of scenarios that were not at all ironic -- which, in itself is ironic -- the search has been on for a proper example of irony that doesn't involve diabetic men rushing to the pharmacy being flattened by insulin trucks.
The dictionary definition of irony, by the way, is the following: The use of words to express something other than and especially the opposite of the literal meaning.
So, here's the thing. We think the notion of repairing a broken car window with a burglar alarm sticker is ironic -- but we're not sure. Insulin is not involved, and that gives us pause.
