As if the Case of the Porta-Potty Arsonist couldn't get any stranger, Clorox Co. -- yes, the Oakland-based maker of chemical cleaning supplies -- is now sponsoring a $5,000 reward for tips leading to the potty flamer's arrest, according to the Associated Press.

Is this what it's come to with the budget shortfall? What's next? Master Lock sponsoring rewards for burglary suspects? MGM Studios offering rewards for bank heists?

The marketing team at Clorox must be patting themselves on the back right now for realizing toilets' garnering international headlines is probably a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

We just have to ask: When the guy is finally caught, will his jail jumpsuit will have a Clorox decal on it -- sponsored NASCAR-style?

Maybe the company will splurge for a special cop car to track the pyro down, too?
