Police Arrest Marina Middle School Volleyball Coach on Child Molestation Charges

Pedersen, a San Francisco resident and teacher at the middle school in the San Francisco Unified School District for nine years, has been charged with three counts of lewd or lascivious acts and one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child, according to police. The school district notified the police department about Pedersen's alleged conduct when they discovered the "inappropriate relationship" he had with the student.
According to a press release, the Juvenile Division's Special Victims Unit initiated an investigation immediately after receiving the tip.
Incidentally, Pedersen garnered 3.9 stars out of a possible 5 on the Web site Rate My Teachers (there were 20 reviews). In light of Pedersen's arrest, however, this October 2007 review raised eyebrows: "eww pedersen??! ask some girls and they'll tell you wat (sic) they REALLY think of him....shudders."
The police request anyone who may have been a victim of Pedersen to contact Inspector Liane Corrales of the Juvenile Division at 558-5529.

This is happening all over the country. Go to www.schoolteachernews.com and click on the Scandal page. They have docuemented over 110 of these types of incidents. In 2008 they found 479 of these kinds of cases.

CAUGHT in the act!!!!! and it's definitely NOT appropriate by any means to kiss students on the forehead or caress them on the shoulders or on the back. If your teacher is touching you inappropriately, tell an adult immediately- such as a counselor, administrator, school social worker, or another teacher. and stop blaming the 13-year old female. their relationship started when she was 11-years old. She was just a baby and didn't know any better. She is the victim and is going to need a lot of support from others around her for a very long time!! Pedersen was the adult who should know better than to have intimate relations with children- with babies!!!!!!
