Ready for its feature film appearance.
By far the classiest model of the MUNI system, the historic F-line streetcar that runs along the Embarcadero and up Market to the Castro hit the silver screen lately with its appearance in the background in Milk. But as Angelina Jolie can attest (she voiced a poochy lipped fish in Shark Tale and tigress in Kung Fu Panda) you aren't a true star these days until you've been turned into an animated character in a DreamWorks feature film.

The Milan tram of the F-line fleet is about to get that break: It will be one of the animated San Francisco landmarks in the upcoming 3-D DreamWorks movie Monsters vs. Aliens, hitting theaters March 27. We're not sure if the streetcar will be bashed up by droids and extraterrestrials or merely serve as an extremely slow get-away vehicle, but apparently the streetcar couldn't wait for the credits to roll. It's already reveling in its 15 minutes of fame by posting the news in the car itself:
