Gay Marriage: Next Stop, U.S. Supreme Court

• Hey... It looks like there's a problem

• "it is a simple thing that says TRADITIONAL marriage is between a man and a woman." Not too long ago, "traditional" marriage excluded biracial marriage. Just because something has always been, doesnt mean it always should be.

• This isn't something the American people need to vote on, it's something the judicial system needs to answer. The people of the united states do not have a right to pass a law, or laws that discriminate against a minority, rather that minority be gay, straight, black, white, disabled, or not-disabled. When you pass a law that says only a man and a women can enter a marriage, that's exactly what you are doing, you are discriminating against a minority. How can a minority win against something that goes to a poll, and voted on by a majority? They can't, and that's why the courts had to step in for black people, and for women. Just as women can now vote, and how black people have rights, and are no longer slaves, gay people should have their equal rights as well. Do NOT bring religion into this. Did they not remove the 10 commandments from the steps of a courthouse not long ago? Separation of church and state is a very serious matter. People act like their religion is the law, and the only correct set of answers to go by. There are other religions, each with their own beliefs. That doesn't mean them right.. Keep religion out of the law. Practice your religion on your own time, but do not force your bible onto me, or anyone for that matter. If you don't believe in gay marriage, then fine, don't marry someone of the same sex. That doesn't mean you can tell someone else what to do.

• It is not about gay rights it is a simple thing that says TRADITIONAL marriage is between a man and a woman. If your gay and want a marriage license, move to Massachusetts. Besides marriage is an institution, and it easier to get into a marriage then it is to get out of one. Next in line will be can I marry an animal. very simply draw the line.

• I think the term "haterosexual" is not at all appropriate. I'm heterosexual, and I am totally for gay rights and equality. To lay blame on one's sexual orientation does not transcend the fact as to why poposition 8 had passed. To blame heterosexuals makes only as much sense as blaming gays for making it come to this. Instead, I think what we need is better education and for people ao they can rationally come to terms that this is hateful discrimination, not a heterosexual ploy.

• Take it to the Supreme Court and we'll make Proposition 8 our next US Constitutional Amendment. Gay vs Traditional marriage is not and never was about civil rights. It is about right and wrong and the foundation of civilization itself. Think the Constitution and Bill of Rights are important? Marriage and family are even more foundational. I am relieved that Proposition 8 is passing.

• The haterosexual dictatorship at work at always. Haterosexuals believe they are gay people's authority. That they know everything about gay people because they are hateros yet don't know anything about gay people. That they can dictate what gay people can or can't do.
