News & Booze Friday Edition: Will We Allow Smoking on the Suicide Barrier?

Chris Daly's attempt to further ban smoking may be gasping for air because - hey - we've already banned smoking everyplace we could do it easily.

Also, he didn't say "pretty please." He never does.

But a mayoral panel did say the suicide barriers proposed for the Golden Gate Bridge aren't pretty enough. Is that outrageous or accurate?

How about this: if you want to kill yourself in this city, you're allowed to go on the Golden Gate Bridge and smoke. Will that satisfy everyone?
