Fugitive Contortionist Back in the News

jade.jpgPerhaps you too stopped to reread this paragraph when perusing today's article in the Chron about identity theft:

One defendant, Jade-Blue Eclipse, is an acrobat from Japan who remains a fugitive after failing to appear for sentencing, authorities said. She has performed in San Francisco and is an undocumented immigrant, authorities said.

This is not the first time Eclipse's name has warranted mention in the press. Mary Spicuzza wrote about her in the Weekly in January of 2007:

Jade had been living in the U.S. as an undocumented immigrant since she moved here with her mother from Japan more than two decades ago. She was abandoned as a teenager. After years of frustration, and failed attempts to get a "green card," Jade lied on her U.S. passport application by using the identity of a deceased American.
