Carole Migden for Supervisor (Again)?

By Will Harper
Now that Carole Migden is gonna be out of a job soon, I’ve heard growing speculation in the last couple of weeks about her running for supervisor in 2010. The outgoing state senator didn't return a call so I don’t know if Migden herself is really serious about the prospect.
But apparently some locals are encouraging her to run for the board of supes, where she served for five years in the ‘90s.
One guy who says he’d love it if Migden ran is Board President Aaron Peskin, one of the local lefties who stuck with Migden during her doomed June primary campaign against Mark Leno. Peskin described Migden as having a “good solid progressive record” with lots of experience in the public sector (aside from her stint on the board and in the senate, she also served in the Assembly and on the Board of Equalization).
Of course, there is a potential obstacle to her running again. By my calculations, Migden’s official San Francisco residence is in Supervisor Chris Daly’s district. Migden’s buddy Debra Walker is planning to run for Daly’s seat when he’s termed out in two years, and I doubt Migden would cross Walker. So Migden would have to move into another district. That shouldn’t be a problem since she doesn’t really live in SF anyway, right? (Yes, that is a joke.)
