We in the media steal each other's ideas all the time. The Onion starts the Tolerability Index one week, the next Newsweek launches the Dignity Index. This is a copycat profession, and it's no biggie unless someone crosses the line and actually plagiarizes something verbatim. I don't think King Kaufman's "exclusive interview" with the Olympic torch--which followed the Weekly's exclusive interview with the torch--crossed that line, but I'm still annoyed.
