It seems that the unofficial Craigslist Blog isn't going to leave without a fight. After word seeped into the blogosphere yesterday that Craigslist CEO Jim Buckmaster was threatening to take legal action in no uncertain terms if the Craigslist Blog didn't stop "infringing" on the Craigslist name, the unofficial blogger shot back, alleging that the new official Craigslist Blog isn't really a blog at all -- more a hasty attempt to cover their asses with some kind of blog presence in light of a looming legal fight.
While the finer points of what constitutes infringement elude me, I do have to agree with the unofficial blogger that this whole thing seems to go against the spirit of Craigslist and just makes the site look, well, douchebaggy -- which is a hard thing to say, considering how many crazy roommates and used futons Craigslist has helped me find and then ditch through the years.
