Monterey Bay Aquarium Sharks are Total Party Animals
The Monterey Bay Aquarium has gathered conclusive evidence that great white sharks participate in their own version of Spring Break. The aquarium has captured and released three white sharks equipped with monitoring devices, according to an article in today's Chronicle. The devices show that after release, the sharks quickly head south. One female shark made it to Santa Barbara, while a male released in Feb, swam to Baja before heading to party central, Cabo. Aquarium spokesman Ken Peterson said it's not unusual for young white sharks to spend time off the coast of Southern California and the Baja Peninsula. –Andy Wright
