iPods Now More Explody

Wed Mar 12, 2008 at 09:16:20 AM

ipod.JPGAn Associated Press article today reports that a shipment of iPods coming out of Japan has problems with recharging. Specifically, it shoots out sparks when you plug it in. A mysterious, unnamed official from the trade and economy ministry of Japan said the problem is probably due to faulty lithium-ion batteries in the iPod Nano model number MA099J/A. This is not the first time the rascally lithium-ion battery has proved troublesome to consumers. In 2006, Sony recalled about 10 million batteries after some computers burst into flames. Apple has shipped about 425,000 of the potentially faulty iPods all over the world. Whatever you do, do not rest the MA099J/A on your lap-Andy Wright.
