"The Weather Channel had great promise, and that's all gone now because they've made every mistake in the book," John Coleman told the attendees of the 2008 International Conference on Climate Change on Monday, according to businessandmedia.org. Coleman is the channel's founder and the only man alive who can work up that amount of fervor over the state of the Weather Channel. A quick trip over to the conference Web site reveals that its purpose is to debunk global warming, one quotation mark at a time:
Advocacy groups and most environment reporters claim “the scientific debate is over” and only a “fringe” of scientists or policy experts do not believe global warming is a crisis. While the channel has committed a number of egregious errors in Coleman's eyes, among them reporting the traffic, its worst offense is "telling us what to think." (Right now the Weather Channel Web site is telling me to think that it's going to rain in New England tomorrow. Also, winter is charming.) Coleman spoke of his strategy to expose "the fraud of global warming", which includes suing Al Gore. Question: Is a feud between the guy who founded the Weather Channel and Al Gore the most boring feud the Earth has ever known? Answer: "Possibly." — Andy Wright
I remember John Coleman as a nutty weatherman on Channel 7 in CHicago in the 70's. He was crazy then, he is crazy now.
