Deconstruction Workers Present 'Let It Rain' Flashmob This Saturday

Gotta love this: a group of culture jammers known as the Deconstruction Workers (tag line: "construction through critical deconstruction") is organizing a flash mob for this Saturday, March 15 at 2:00 p.m. called "Let It Rain" to take place at a yet-to-be-named San Francisco mall. There's no mistaking the similarity to Abbey Hoffman's famous 1967 Yippie protest in which protesters invaded the gallery of the New York Stock Exchange and tossed tons of mostly fake dollars onto the traders below:

"A group of people will 'disperse' fake money from a top story mezzanine, while a set mob of people scramble to gather the faux-dough on the floor below. The 'money' will carry slogans such as 'Your ad here' and 'A dollar for your conscience' mocking the excessive consumption prevalent in shopping malls."

It's called a statement people. Get one. The exact time and locale will be revealed Friday. Check their website for updates. (via Squid List)
