British Check "Become Invisible" Off To-Do List

Scientists at the Britannia Royal Navy College have raised the bar on rad, according to an article on Daily Tech yesterday. Researchers have successfully rendered a 10-micrometer circle invisible to the human eye by using metamaterials that refract light at a negative angle.

But enough with the science talk. Here's the important part:

If the scientists are able to accomplish the goal, the British Navy would have battleships that produce no noise and that are invisible to the naked eye, radar, and heat-seeking missiles. If successful, the only indication that the ship is coming would be the water it displaced.
