17-Year-Old Shot in Broad Daylight, Man Dies In Fall Down Elevator Shaft

17-year-old Tauvares Wooten was shot several times in the neighborhood of Silver Terrace Sunday, and died shortly thereafter at San Francisco General Hospital, according to an article in today’s Examiner. Police have not arrested any suspects yet. A separate article in today’s Examiner reports that two men engaged in a brawl fell down the elevator shaft of a Tenderloin single-room-occupancy hotel Saturday night. One of them died, and his body was not extracted until the next day. Police have not decided whether the incident was an accident, and have not charged the survivor with anything at this time. -Andy Wright
