Granted, San Francisco is an unusual and freewheeling place -- but out in the Avenues? You just don't expect to see a culinary temple to exotic religions out by Lincoln Park, a severed goat head's toss from the Legion of Honor.

Who knows what marvels reside within the Pagan Restaurant? Are there wild, wine-fueled bacchanals? Rain dancing lessons? Is naked wrestling somehow involved?

Well -- probably not. In fact, to see what manner of cuisine is served within the Pagan's four walls, click "More."

When I called the restaurant up, they informed me that Pagan (with the accent on the second syllable) is an "ancient city in Burma with lots of Pagodas." And so it is!

Well, fair enough. And remember, if ever you see an unusual sign in the San Francisco vicinity, don't keep it to yourself. Take a picture and send it to me.
