Our Pals at AsianWeek Endorse Black Person, Guy Who Raved About 'Gooks'

These are tough days to be Kenneth "Why I Hate Black People" Eng.
In December, the disgraced columnist's former paper, AsianWeek, ran a cover story titled "Black Asian Love!"
And now? The paper has endorsed Barack Obama for president.
Fair enough. The more AsianWeek incenses Eng, the better. More confusing, however, was AsianWeek's endorsement of John McCain — with nary a word mentioned anywhere about McCain's use of the term "gooks" in 2000 to describe his North Vietnamese captors. What's more, when McCain's vocabulary was questioned, he indignantly defended it:
Several stories that ran last Friday quoted McCain as saying “I hate the gooks. I will hate them as long as I live … I was referring to my prison guards and I will continue to refer to them in language that might offend.”
The underlining was mine. That text? From AsianWeek, of course.
