Oakland Non-Profit Sold Illegal Drugs

United States Attorney Joseph P. Russoniello said in a press release yesterday that Oakland man, Chuka Ogele, has been sentenced to 37 months in prison for using his non-profit as a front to distribute drugs. While Ogele's organization purported to sell medical supplies to Nigeria for the treatment of AIDS patients, what it actually did was buy and sell codeine and painkillers that were distributed in both Oakland and Houston, TX. 40,000 units were sold to the tune of $2.5 million in profits. –Andy Wright
