It was this social experiment and quirky domain name that gave the ipickmynose blog such a... interesting name. Adrian already had the domain name so he figured he may as well use it for a music blog. It makes um... perfect sense.

This Saturday's show at the Starry Plough marks the first time ipickmynose and The Bay Bridged have collaborated on presenting a show. Bischoff says the show will be worth the drive or BART ride to Berkeley. "Sometimes people say, 'That's a great local band,' and what they mean is that's great for a local band," he says. "But really these are bands that are really great and they just happen to be local."

ipickmynose focuses on indie rock in general rather than just local music. He also hosts a radio show on Stanford's campus radio station KZSU where he's interviewed notable locals like John Vanderslice.

It seems that an East Bay venue is a fitting place for Saturday's show. Bischoff points out that the exorbitant rent prices in San Francisco keep a lot of bands living in Oakland and Berkeley. Many bands known as "San Francisco bands" in fact live in the East Bay. But no matter where they're located, Bischoff insists that it's the music that counts. "Whether or not I lived in the Bay Area, I would want to be listening to The Morning Benders, The Dodos, Or, The Whale," he says. "These are really great bands."
