I dont understand why ppl are so angry about his doc on the suicides on the bridge. Its the truth. Its whats happening. It can be stopped but they arent doing shit to stop it. The Documentary "The Bridge" was very intense and brutally honest in my opinion. Hell you see docs about ppl overdosing on drugs or killing eachother in gangs etc etc. This is just another shot of reality.

This movie (The Bridge) is a moving film that I hope would be a reminder to us how fragile life is. It should help us to see that mental health issues are painful to so many people, and that the suffering is real. Also, if someone is hell bent, determined to kill themself, they will achieve this goal in one way or another. This isn't to say friends and family shouldn't help them, of course they should. But, they only sure way to prevent a suicide is to lock the person up, obviously not something we can do for every person who is having feelings of hurting themselves. Locking up people with mental health problems is very difficult. We cannot suicide proof the world, and shouldn't take away the awsome beauty of the bridge to the millions of people who have crossed the bridge (myself included) who didn't jump, but enjoyed the majesty and awsome view we were so blessed to partake in.

I, like so many people are really drawn to the Golden Gate Bridge. But for reasons not associated to ending one's life.
Form and function come to my mind, I enjoy architecture, and the bridge is a marvel to look at and be on whether driving or walking. My heart goes out to all that surrounds a
suicide, from the jumper, to his/hers family, friends, co-workers. I saw the movie 'the Bridge' and it left me staring at the screen well after the end credits were done. Did I enjoy the movie? , enjoy is not the word in my case. That movie did INFORM me better about the severity of mental health issues concerning suicide. I come to visit the Bay area quite often,being from Seattle we have our fare share of jumpers too. ( The Aurora bridge )Not as many as the Golden Gate,
but still whether it's 1 or 35 suicides a year it still leaves so many questions.
