Democracy Deferred: Board of Supervisors Finally Considers New Voting Machines

Uh, yeah. San Francisco Board of Supervisors, do you think you could have dealt with this whole voting machine problem, like, nine months ago, instead of five days before the election?
According to the Chronicle, the prospect of waiting weeks for mayoral election results may finally convince the BOS to approve a contract for new voting machines -- the same contract that the board refused to bring to a vote in February. Way to be on top of things, elected officials.
In other news, don't forget to get out there and vote today.
