On the phone with my mom in Irvine:

"It's really close to your uncle's house. He got evacuated, but they're letting him in today to pick up some things. The sky looks overcast, but different. Like the apocalypse. I'm going to take a picture of the sky and e-mail it to you; it's so weird. There's no wind, but it's supposed to be hot today, 100 degrees. I feel so bad for those firefighters. ... But we're all okay for now. It gives the ladies something to talk about."
