New York Post on S.F.: Sir Francis Drake, AIDS, and Everything in Between

The New York Post, Rupert Murdoch's flagship publication and the newspaper of choice for obnoxiously conservative New Yorkers, ran a bizarre little write up about San Francisco today. Apropos of nothing, and reading more like a high school research project than a newspaper clip, the article burns through our fair city's history, beginning with Sir Francis Drake and ending with HIV/AIDS -- now that's brevity.
The only clue as to exactly why the Post produced this article is an "Activities" section at the bottom suggesting ways for students to further their research: "Use people mentioned in this article ... to select two San Francisco personalities, and write a brief article on each."
Aww, New York Post, you hate liberals and you care about the children! Heartwarming, really. I can't help but wonder if this has any connection to the recent news of Murdoch-owned MySpace.com opening an office in town.
