Crossbows on the Green: Suburban Poaching in Redwood City

Categories: Environment

Ted Nugent would be proud: Time magazine reports that poachers with crossbows took to a public park in nearby Redwood City, where they built a tree stand, scattered bait, and waited for black-tailed deer to wander by so they could bag themselves a nice trophy, and one would hope, at least some venison steaks.

Of course, hauling the guns and crossbows out to the park or the golf course seems inevitable in an age when 79 percent of the U.S. population lives in urban areas.
