That's right, the foreign consortium just won the bid for a $125 million San Francisco submarine energy cable from Pittsburg to The City. Basically the City needs MORE POWER and has decided to run a cable along the length of the Bay. I was talking to a diver out there working on the project and he said trenching the hole for the cable was no small feat. There's tons of
shit on the bottom of the bay. Cars that have fallen off tankers. Pieces of the Bay Bridge. Pipeline projects to nowhere. Even vintage bottles of whiskey from the 19th century have been dug up. And don't even ask me how they thread this huge extension cord underneath the existing pipelines and cables down there.
