BART All Night, Kim Chun hired to SF Weekly, & Rock the Bells in SF: News briefs
Good morning, SF. We made it to hump day, which means we're buried while we prepare for the Bandwidth Conference Friday, then scoot over to the Rock the Bells festival Saturday. (Note: according to the Bandwidth schedule, we hired Guardian music columnist Kimberly Chun. Which rocks, cus she's a real local music nerd. Welcome to the staff, Sonic Reducer! :-P)
Coming up later today, we got some killer stories about the tech inside the new Muni hybrids continuing their roll out this week, and other stuff too. In the mean time, did you hear that the Bay Bridge is going to be closed over Labor Day for like, four days? BART will provide 24 hour service, which kicks ass for all you bridge and tunnel folk. Time to get faded! In other news, that rookie cop who shot himself did it while giving a gun safety lecture. That's fucking sad. And the inimitable Leslie Fullbright chases the crap crime cameras story for the Day II angle -- interview the project residents. Clever! See you in a few, Baydestrians. -d2
