Here's some good news for fans of dance music and high quality sound systems. Though 222 Hyde recently closed, its Turbosound rig will find a new home at Potrero Hill art-oriented nightclub Project One. Owner Brooke Waterhouse posted the news on her Facebook page yesterday, and the system is now fully installed and ready for an introductory party sometime this weekend (we imagine details will be posted on the venue's website). That's good news, of course, but it's not the only news. And as usual, we've got you covered with a cheat sheet of what to look out for nightlife wise. So, read on -- your weekend awaits.

Listen, can you hear that rustling sound? That's the noise of time slipping by as April rapidly approaches. We're firmly into the idea of always having something to celebrate, so what better thing than the end of Lent this Saturday? Congrats, now you can treat yourself to something nice. As usual, we have just the list to help you decide how to mark the passage of this important occasion. Read on -- your weekend awaits.

European disco re-edit duo Tiger & Woods play at Monarch on Friday.
It's still a tough call, but this week sure feels like the end of a significant chapter in San Francisco nightlife history. The catalyst is, of course, the decommissioning of Mighty's epic RLA soundsystem. But while it might be a sad note for some, remember that these kinds of ends usually signal new beginnings. That said, it's not too late to pay last respects, and to help you get oriented we've gathered together a few of your best opportunities for saying farewell. And for those of you who aren't into goodbyes, we've also included a fair showing of killer events at other venues as well. Read on -- your weekend awaits.

Seth Troxler plays at Public Works on Friday.
St. Patrick's Day looms, but that doesn't mean you need to put on green clothing to party this weekend. In fact, the draw of South by Southwest in Austin. means that an unusually high number of big touring acts will be stopping in the City by the Bay. Somewhat oddly, this week the focus is on the slick and heavily medicated sound of contemporary tech-house. The focal point being Friday's extended-length, headlining set by Seth Troxler, one of the most respected figures in this new movement. But that's not all, and as usual we've got you covered. Read on -- your weekend awaits.

Confusion is the word that best describes the zeitgeist of San Francisco nightlife these days. A lot of that has to do with 222 Hyde, the fantastic basement club that's unfortunately shutting down permanently this Saturday. Given the circumstances, we felt it was only right to devote a chunk of words hashing out the details of its last days. So, technically, this is a top seven list, but who's counting anyway? This time around, imagine a tear in our metaphorical eye as we bid you: read on -- your weekend awaits.

The Crystal Ark plays Mezzanine on Friday
Beatport sold out for $50 million, 222 Hyde is shutting down, and Baauer's "Harlem Shake" somehow topped the Billboard Hot 100 for the second week in a row. Is there a connection between any of those things? Not really, but it helps to illustrate the chaotic winds of change that seem to be blowing as we enter into the thick of 2013. However, one thing that you can count on is that San Francisco is a city with great parties every week. As usual we have you covered, but what's more, we now have you partygoers covered in print as well. If you want to get a jump on things, pick up a copy of SF Weekly from your neighborhood newsrack, and you'll have the party preview one full day before it goes online. We assume most have already done that, so, for the rest you, read on -- your weekend awaits.

Magic Touch plays at Monarch on Friday
Hopefully your liver made it through last week's holidays in one piece, because there's another round of excellent parties approaching. As usual we've got a cheat sheet of our top picks, but, if you look, you'll also notice that we've done things a little differently this time. That's because starting next week, we'll be running our party recommendations in the print edition of the SF Weekly on a regular basis. To help the transition, we've switched up the format to accommodate a larger explanation for our top pick (you'll have to glance through to see who that is). The future is bold and looks an awful lot like a dialysis machine. Read on -- your weekend awaits.

It may be Valentine's Day, but who cares? It's President's Day on Monday, and in our eyes, that's a far better holiday. After all, the Hallmark Corporation may give you a reason to celebrate love, but it certainly doesn't give you a day off from work. To better help you ease into things, we've put together this list for your perusal. Read on -- your weekend awaits.

In case you were unaware, this weekend marks the passage of Mardi Gras in San Francisco. Always something of an outsider holiday here, its presence doesn't seem to excite the same kind of passions as it does in some other cities. Nevertheless, that doesn't mean you shouldn't celebrate -- just maybe leave the beads at home and lay off the king cake. To help you get into the spirit of things, we've picked out five parties that are now rapidly approaching. Read on -- your weekend awaits.

As per usual, we've gathered together a few activities for your inspection, with choice options for technoheads, goths, and the truly thrifty. Read on -- your weekend awaits.
