The Lowbrow Art Sale: AJ Fosik, Yoskay Yamamoto & Justin Kamerer

Tue May 06, 2008 at 08:00:00 AM

A.J. Fosik "Old Mr. Grieves Possessed by a Ghost on the Way to the Well"
ajfosik_old.jpeg
An artist out of Philadelphia, AJ Fosik creates amazing animal sculptures out of wood, and very colorful paintings. His work features elements that you are no doubt familiar with, but pushes them in a direction that makes these works serious eye candy such as the print shown. The print is a 3 color silkscreen and is limited to only 75. You can see some of the elements he uses in his sculptural work, such as the patterns seen throughout the print.

The Lowbrow Art Sale: Nicoletta Ceccoli, Brendan Monroe & Scott Radke

Tue Apr 29, 2008 at 08:00:00 AM

Nicoletta Ceccoli "Angelica"
angelica_nicolettaceccoli.jpg
Nicoletta has been shown on these list before, she was even in my top 10 list for 2007. Well she has a new print available from Munky King. It's a beautiful sepia-toned lithograph showcasing her amazing style. The print is even framed for you, so all you have to do is put it on the wall. The print is in an edition of 50. I really dig the dreamy look her work has. Get It Here

The Lowbrow Art Sale: H.R. Giger, Jonathan Weiner & Natalie Shau

Tue Apr 22, 2008 at 08:00:00 AM

H.R. Giger "Biomechanoid"
biomechanoid_giger.jpg
What can you say about an artist like Giger? He has influenced so many. His imagery is seen in movies like Alien, and is the first anyone thinks of when the word "biomechanical" comes into conversation. . .if that is normal conversation for some people. Giger has been doing this kind of creepy, dark art for years. This specific work was from 1976. This print is from the Last Rites Gallery, and is singed and numbered in an edition of 495.

The Lowbrow Art Sale: Glenn Barr, David Macdowell & Ojimbo

Tue Apr 15, 2008 at 08:00:00 AM

Glenn Barr "Bad Betty"
Print_GlennBarr_BadBetty-Ca.jpg
I'm always happy to show any prints I can find from Glenn Barr, and this is one of my all time favorites that he has made. It is super hard to find, and I'm sure you can see why. This print is just amazing, colorful and a guaranteed conversation piece. I was able to buy one of these a long time ago, and it looks great all framed up. Glenn made another Betty Rubble inspired piece called "Bored and Horny" which looks amazing as well. This lithograph is signed an numbered. Get It Here

The Lowbrow Art Sale: Cam De Leon, Basil Gogos & Ken Keirns

Tue Apr 08, 2008 at 08:00:00 AM

Cam De Leon "Happy Pencil Goes to Hell"
happypencilgoestohell_cam.jpg
If you have seen the cover of any of Tool's earlier albums, you will be familiar with the work of Cam De Leon. He was born in Modesto, CA, and I'm sure he's happy he's out. He has also done work on The Ghostbusters and a host of other movies. He has a really killer style, and his work is what I associate the most with Tool. They have had some great art on their albums, but I think Cam's fit the best. It looks like you can get a free mini-print whenever you order a limited one. This one is limited to 100, signed and numbered. Get It Here

The Lowbrow Art Sale: Coop, Klutch & Paul Chatem

Tue Apr 01, 2008 at 08:00:00 AM

Coop "Parts With Appeal"
parts_coop.jpg
Coop first reeled me in with his Lords of Acid cover for their album "Voodoo U." If you're a fan of his work, Pressure Printing is having sale this month and you can take 20% off any order. So what better way to score this print set by Coop? It features six mini prints, three devil girls and a spark plug triptych. Each print is signed and numbered in an edition of 500. You also get a nifty portfolio, in case you don't want to frame the prints.

The Lowbrow Art Sale: Travis Louie, Stella Im Hultberg & Brom

Tue Mar 25, 2008 at 08:00:00 AM

Travis Louie "Stack of Demons"
stackofdemons_travislouie.jpg
Tarvis Louie is back with his great film noir style in this new print being released by Copro Nason Gallery. The print features three little demons in his crazy style, posing for you. It's a killer image and since it is already framed for you it's a great deal as well. Framing prints is often the most expensive part of it all, and you also know that is the frame the artist intended for the work. The print is framed, signed and numbered in an edition of 50.

The Lowbrow Art Sale: Alex Gross, Brian Viveros & Fred Harper

Tue Mar 18, 2008 at 08:00:00 AM

Alex Gross "ButterFlies In The Rain"
butterfliesinthe_alexgross.jpg
An award winning painter and one time art professor, Alex Gross should have been in these lists long ago . Much of his work is inspired by his time spent traveling through Japan. This is a polymer etching on Rives BFK paper and was made by the pros at Pressure Printing. Etchings are amazing but not quite common anymore. This specific one is pretty much sold out save for a few proofs Alex has left over.

The Lowbrow Art Sale: Audrey Kawasaki, Joshua Clay & Travis Lampe

Tue Mar 11, 2008 at 08:00:00 AM

Audrey Kawasaki "Lacey"
kawasaki_lacey.jpg
The past few times I have featured prints by Audrey they always sell out lightning fast. Not because of me, she's just in that much demand right now. So much so that she has special instructions on how to get one of her prints, unless you want to buy it on ebay later for hugely inflated prices. This print is signed and numbered in an edition of 150 with 90 available. The print goes on sale March 15 at 9:00am PST, only one per customer. Click the link for all the info and Good luck.

The Lowbrow Art Sale: Eric White, David Stoupakis & Brian Despain

Tue Mar 04, 2008 at 08:00:00 AM

Eric White "The One"
one_ericwhite.jpg
A surrealist painter out of New York, Eric White has been creating these mind-blowing paintings for quite some time. The skill that you can see radiating from every one of his paintings is truly impressive. His work is inspired by alternate realities, surreal visions that aren't always laden with pop imagery. The hair in this painting really blows me away. I love how you can't really see her face in this piece, it really trips me out. This is a signed and numbered giclee print, in an edition of 40.

The Lowbrow Art Sale: Jeff Soto, Nathan Spoor & Kathie Olivas

Tue Feb 26, 2008 at 08:00:00 AM

Jeff Soto "War Clouds"
jeffsoto_WarCloud.jpg
A new print from Jeff's solo show, "Storm Clouds" that happened last September at the Jonathan Levine Gallery is being released. This has to be one of my favorite pieces from that show, well pretty much every painting at that show was my favorite but not all of them are being turned into prints. The staining in the background contrasted with his perfect linework looks amazing. This print is 20" x 14", in an edition of 50. The original was only 18" x 12", so the print is a tad bigger. E-mail Jeff if you would like to get one of these before they are officially released.

The Lowbrow Art Sale: Chet Zar, Stuntkid & Caia Koopman

Tue Feb 19, 2008 at 07:46:38 AM

Chet Zar "Crybaby"
zar_crybaby.jpg
Chet Zar is starting out the new year giving us two new prints. Both are signed and numbered, and limited to 50. The print shown is 13" x 16" and is from a painting that was at the "Sanctuary" show that happened in October at the Limited Addiction Gallery. Take a look at the painting all framed up Here.
This gives you a good idea of how killer this print will look once you find a cool frame for it.

The Lowbrow Art Sale -- Glenn Barr, Eric Bailey & Mitch O'Connell

Tue Feb 12, 2008 at 08:00:00 AM

Glenn Barr "The Ruiners"
ruiners1.jpg
Glenn Barr is a favorite of mine, and one of his new prints from the masters at Pressure Printing is really exciting. No one makes them like Pressure Printing does. They take on one project and then really make it something special. This print is from a painting he had at a solo show at Billy Shire Fine Arts in 2006. You can see here that this painting was the inspiration for his "The Cyprian of Cyprus" painting at the Venus show last year. This print has a hand painted signature, is hand varnished and comes framed in an edition of 50. It's also a great size of 18.5" x 22.75".

The Lowbrow Art Sale -- Michael Hussar, Will Murai & Brian Morris

Tue Feb 05, 2008 at 06:29:51 AM

Michael Hussar "Still Life With A Smile"
stilllife_hussar.jpg
This is a new print from Micheal Hussar, just released this week. Like the "Hans Memling" print this new one is limited to an edition of 88, signed, numbered and with a certificate of authenticity. The quality of Michael’s prints and the presentation is amazing. You get the print presented in a way I have not seen from anyone else. I think if you order this one today shipping is free in the US.

The Lowbrow Art Sale -- Ian Francis, Tara McPherson, Dave Kinsey

Tue Jan 29, 2008 at 08:15:38 AM

Ian Francis "Alice Joins The Army In Wonderland"
ianfrancis.jpg
Ever since I saw the work of UK based painter at the BLK/MRKT gallery, I have been patiently waiting for some new prints. The last ones sold out very fast. There's a few new ones, but this is my favorite by Ian and I think it is a great example of his very infectious style. His mixed media/collage style was first developed on the computer, and then he switched over and replaced pixels for acrylics, charcoal, inks and photo transfers. His paintings are a perfect blend of figurative work and an abstract explosion of color, texture and shape. This print is signed, stamped and numbered in an edition of 50.
