​Canadian indie rockers Metric invaded the Fox Theater in Oakland on Wednesday night. Frontwoman Emily Haines commanded the room, moving from behind the keyboards to the front of stage. Codeine Velvet Club and Nico Vega opened the show. 

I don't know you y'all, but we're feeling a heavy Noise Pop hangover from so much back-to-back entertainment over the last week (or, perhaps it's really just tied to that last whiskey we downed during Four Tet on Friday).

Before we close out another year of indie pop festival coverage, though, we have two slideshows from last night's Noise Pop finales up now.

​Every year, boys and girls shed their pants (and then check them at the coat check) for the annual No Pants Party. This year, the pre game for Valentine's Day brought the stripped down to the Knockout on a Spring-ish weekend. Check out Richard Haick's slideshow here.

​Regardless of whether KISS is your cuppa, well, tongue, the band knows how to put on a visually dazzling show. Photographer Richard Haick traveled to the Oakland Arena to lick it up with his camera for this week's big rock 'n' roll slideshow.

Photographer Richard Haick went down to San Jose State to capture a performance by Rob Zombie, the hard rock- and horror movie-cult legend whose fans are nearly as colorful as his stage shows.

​Photographer Hanna Quevedo hit the Dia De Los Muertos party in the Mission--where, she writes, "sugar skulls and candles meet bike-powered carriages and shadow puppetry in a mash-up of the traditional and the new."

From the religious protesters out front who yelled that the costumed revelers should "make the right choice" and not enter the Cow Palace, to the vast array of half-dressed men and women inside, the Exotic Erotic Balll was a feast for the eyes with endless streams of people dressed as dominatrixes, sexy lions, waitresses or dominatrix lion waitresses.

Inside the main hall, as Tila Tequila and other lesser known b-listers (i.e. Coolio) took the stage we watched a laser light show, in which dozens of people danced and writhed on the cement floor. Which costume did we like best? Maybe the guy with the inflatable doll performing sex acts, or perhaps the lady dressed as a Bondage Laura Kroft. But not everyone was scantilty NSFW and racier slideshow not withstanding, below are some of our favorite PG-13 rated costume highlights.
