Despite the fact that their fearless leader hasn't been terribly good to his Bay Area fans of late*, Morrissey and Smiths fans are a loyal, dedicated bunch. More so than many other fans, they are the kinds of people who get tattoos of their heroes. Even ugly ones.

A new book aims to catalog this phenomenon, and its creators are looking for Bay Area residents with Smiths/Moz tattoos to be photographed over two nights this week. Are you one?

About the book:

"To Me You Are A Work of Art" is a photo project in search of anyone with tattoo(s) related to, or inspired by, Morrissey and/or The Smiths. The photographs will profile fans and all their tattoos from various cities across the country over the course of the next few months. All photos will be taken by Toronto based photographer Patrick Moore.

If you're game, Moore is coming to Lost Weekend Video on Valencia Street this Tuesday, Feb. 25, from 7 to 9 p.m. And on Wednesday, Feb. 26, he'll be at 1-2-3-4-Go! Records in Oakland from 6 to 8 p.m. You can email YouWorkOfArt@gmail.com for more information.

* Moz, we should note, is scheduled to perform May 7 at the San Jose City National Civic Auditorium.
